Parents Implore TSC Not To Transfer Teachers Who Post Good Results
Parents from the Kenyenya area in Kisii County have urged the Teachers Service Commission not to transfer teachers who have posted good results in their current stations before they complete their projects.
Through the Nyanza Region Parents’ Association Chairperson Mr Paul Mainga, the parents called on the Commission to reverse the transfer of one teacher, Mr Kengere Mbara from Mwongoris Secondary School to Kebabe Secondary School due to his good work.
According to Mr Mainga, Mr Mbaka had done wonders at Mwongoris Secondary School to become a good-performing school with a high student population and good infrastructure.
On the other hand, at Nyambaria School, there was a dull mood after one teacher, Mr Boaz Owino left with parents not happy over the same.
Parents who have children learning at Nyambaria School hired two buses and travelled to Mr Owino’s home located in Siaya to conduct a farewell and retirement party, clearly happy with what he had done for the school.
The parents called on the Commission to review his contract and return him to the school to complete the good plans that he had for the school.
Regarding the transfers, Kisii County Education Director Mr Pius Ngoma said that the transfers of any civil servant were done according to the normal Code of Regulations.
“TSC has the mandate to promote, hire and fire its employees in following with the Code of Regulations,” said Mr Pius Ngoma.
Further, the Kisii County Director of Education directed all complaints to be addressed to his TSC Counterpart.
