School Principals Directed To Release Learners on NEMIS, Deadline Set On 20th September 2021
Following the end of Form One’s admission in all schools across the country, schools have been striving to upload their learners to the National Education Management System (NEMIS) platform.
However, the main challenges have been the uploading of learners who have already been uploaded in other schools despite them not being there physically. This has led to a situation whereby learners have been admitted to schools that have not been able to upload them on NEMIS.
The State department of early learning and basic education has now directed all county directors of education and consequently school administrators to ensure they upload learners by the 20th of September 2021. This is to ensure that capitation is allocated accordingly to schools for every learner. The 20th of September deadline seemingly means that learners who have not been uploaded should be uploaded in the next five days.
The full circular from the State Department of Early Learning and Basic Education is shown below.
ALL COUNTY DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
RE: RELEASE OF LEARNERS IN THE NEMIS PLATFORM
It has come to the realization of the Ministry of Education that various Principals admitted students without them being physically in the school. Consequently, schools with such students are currently unable to upload their details on the NEMIS platform. To ensure that such learners are in the schools where they are admitted, you are required to:-
- Advice all schools to upload the learners to use the transfer button to place them on NEMIS.
- Ensure that schools that admitted learners without them being physically present in the school to release them in the system.
The process should end by 20th September 2021 so that capitation can be effectively done. Please note that complaints of underfunding resulting from fewer students on NEIS than expected will not be entertained.
Treat this matter with urgency.
