Government Extends 2020 Form Ones Admissions Deadline to 24th January 2020
The Government has officially extended the 2020 Form ones reporting deadlines to the 24th of January 2020 so as to allow the 100 percent student transition from Primary to Secondary Schools.
The ministry of Education sent a circular dated 17th of January to all Regional and County Directors of Education to inform them of the deadline extension.
Education Ministry said that the 2020 form one admissions to secondary schools began on the 13th of January 2020, and was scheduled to end by Friday the 17th of January.
“In order to ensure that no learner is left behind, the Ministry has made a decision to extend the reporting deadline by seven (7) days”, said Dr Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary Ministry of Education.
Therefore, schools are instructed to take advantage of the extension to follow up on the students who were to report to their schools but haven’t.

In addition, Dr Kipsang instructed that schools should cupture all the students admitted in their schools into the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) within this extended time frame.
All the Primary School headteachers are also required to follow up and confirm if all their 2019 KCPE candidates have been placed, and reported to their respective secondary schools.
