2019 Rules on Time and Cast Number in Kenya Drama Festivals

The following are the 2019 rules on time (performance duration) and the cast number (participants) during the Kenya National Drama Festivals. Kindly adhere to them to score better during the adjudication process.

Infringement of the rule on time shall attract a penalty of (one) 1 mark per minute. For the film genre, any item that exceeds the stipulated time by over 10 minutes shall be stopped;
Infringement on the rule on number of cast shall incur a penalty of five (5) marks for every extra person.
Participants performing solo items during the Kenya drama festivals shall be accompanied by ONE teacher/tutor/lecturer. All other items shall present ONLY 2 teachers to accompany the performers. This shall be based on gender considerations, i.e. for a girls’ institution, one accompanying teacher shall be a female and vice versa.
Regional committees and/or institutions are encouraged to sponsor some learners to accompany the films of institutions from their region at the national drama Festival.
