Names of Shortlisted Teachers to be Published by 15th of July

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is set to publish the names of shortlisted applicants in the ongoing recruitment for the recently advertised slots on its official website by Friday, 15th of July 2022.

According to the Commission, it will publish the names of shortlisted applicants between the 13th and 15th of July 2022.

TSC recently advertised 14,460 recruitment vacancies in both primary and secondary schools as well as in Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs) and shall have completed the recruitment process by the end of this month.

At the moment the Commission has 345,316 teachers on its payroll with 228,126 of these being primary school teachers and 116,024 being secondary school teachers. A further 1,166 are tutors of TTCs.

The Commission is sorting out the problem of massive teacher shortages across the country and requires 114,581 teachers to cover the teacher shortages.

The Commission is dedicated to solving the problem of teacher shortages and recruits around 10,000 teachers every year. However, this number is dwarfed by the 10,000 teachers who exit the service every year as well as the existing teacher shortage.

TSC employs 6,000 teachers who serve as interns for a one-year period and their contracts can be renewed by the Commission.

In the July recruitment, TSC gave interested and qualified candidates until today to make their applications for the advertised vacancies.

Applicants are required to use the link: https://hrmis.tsc.go.ke/aap/login to make their applications for the advertised slots.
