KCSE Candidate Damages Police Vehicle and Escapes Exams

A police report has revealed an incident that happened at Karigu-ini mixed secondary school. A student refused to be searched before sitting for the CRE papers 1 exam on Thursday 8th of April, 2021.

The police officer who was guarding the examination center realized that the student did not have a facemask and after asking the boy, he got confrontational. The boy then abused the police officer and caused a commotion.

The incident led to delays in the preparation for the paper for some minutes with another officer stepping into the room to see what was happening.

When the police officer approached the student, the candidate then stormed out of the examination room. The student then picked up a stone and then hit the windscreen of the police land cruiser that had been parked outside.

According to the police report, another revelation was that the student actually managed to get away from the school after destroying some things.

However, the situation was stabilized and the rest of the students managed to sit for their examination.

Cases of students running away from examination centers during the examination period have been reported in different parts of the country.

For instance, on the 6th of April, a KCSE candidate attempted to run away during the KCSE Mathematics paper 2 examinations.

The school principal ran after the candidate and caught him near the fence of the school. The Principal managed to calm the student’s nerves and persuaded him to complete his Mathematics paper.
