A police officer who was overseeing the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination allegedly stole money from invigilators.

The police officer who was posted at Kimulot Secondary School in Bomet appeared on CCTV going through the handbags of female invigilators before he took out what looked like money.

The footage is 1.37 minutes and it shows the police officer armed with an AK-47 rifle entering the room where the teachers had kept their stuff including handbags, phones and other personal items.

The police officer appeared to be removing money from the bags and putting it in one of the side pockets of his trousers.

He then returned the handbags to where they were before leaving the room quickly.

Following the incident which occurred on Monday, the 6th of December, the three victims recorded statements after realizing that their handbags were missing.

The amount of money that had been stolen could not be established immediately.

On the 4th of December, a police officer called Kevin Sila and his accomplice David Muringu approached two students are they were going to their areas of residence.

The two police officers were riding on a motorbike when they stopped the students in their tracks before slapping them and searching their pockets.

However, one of the students managed to escape and ran away while screaming, attracting other students in the neighbourhood.
