TSC Transfers Teachers to Secure Stations Within North Eastern Counties

The Teachers Service Commission TSC has started transferring and issuing transfer letters to teachers in insecure areas within Wajir to other safer stations, after the death of three teachers in previous Alshabaab attack at Kamuthe Primary School in Garissa.

In its official statement, the teachers commission said that they are working with the Garissa County Security team to ensure that teachers in the county are safe.

TSC added that the teachers in vulnerable areas have been relocated to more secure areas.

Here is what TSC said in the Statement about Transfers in North Eastern Region

Following the recent attack at Kamuthe Prlmary School in Garissa

County, in which three of our teachers lost their lives, the Commission has been working to ensure that normalcy in teaching and learning in the county is maintained. The following is a brief on the activities that we have undertaken towards this end;

  1. The Commission has been working with the Garissa County Security team to ensure that all teachers in the county are safe. Teachers In vulnerable areas have been relocated to more secure areas.
  2. The Commission continúes to actively support the familles of the three teachers during this time of grief. We are working closely with the next of kin to ensure the three teachers who lost their lives are given a decent send-off.
  3.  ln the meantime, all the teachers who were affected by the incident have been granted compassionate leave.

Al-Shabaab militia attacked Kamuthe Primary School school compound in Fafi Constituency, Garissa County on the Sunday last week, and killed hree teachers and abducted one.

The three teachers killed were Mr Samuel Muthui, Titus Sasieka Mushindi, and Caleb Muthangya Mutua, all of them hailing from Kitui County. 

Other than storming the primary school, the terrorists also burned down Kamuthe police patrol base before destroying the Safaricom mast located at Kamuthe market.
