TSC Reshuffles County and Regional Deputy Directors
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has made a number of notable transfers among its field officers. A good number have been transferred to other transfers underway.
According to reports, seven more transfers are set to be done at the start of the new year.
TSC county directors are the representatives of the overall TSC administration and they have the responsibility of managing teachers according to the provided policies and guidelines via
- Recruitment.
- Transfers
- Posting
- Receiving
- Recommending study leaves of teachers
- Handling disciplinary cases
- Recommending teachers to be promoted to administrative positions.
- Implementing the Commissions guidelines which it provides from time to time
- Maintaining a database for all administrative posts in the county
- Maintain a data bank of all vacancies available for teachers at the county
In the latest transfers, Charles Omwoyo Nyauma was transferred from Bomet to Busia while Mary Kalinga (the previous Nyeri Deputy Director) was promoted and then transferred to Bomet to replace the former.
Betty Ogwe was also moved to Elgeyo Marakwet to replace bed Mwaniki who was transferred to Meru. Obed Mwaniki will be replacing Dr Esther Musani who will be in charge of Homabay region. The latter will replace Solomon Leseewa who is now the head of Kajiado.
Leseewa replaces Jimal Abdi who has been moved to Trans-Nzoia to replace Bonface Okumu who is facing disciplinary issues.
It has not been revealed who will replace the TSC Director for Wajir Yusuf Abdillahi who retired. In October, Nyandarua’s director Russek Wafula was moved to Marsabit to replace Tom Agal.
Benard Kimachas was transferred from Narok to West Pokot where he replaced Geoffrey Chemos. The latter was transferred to Samburu to replace Jane Mutua. Jane Mutua has been posted to Narok to replace Kimachas.
The former Deputy County Director of Narok was promoted to be a director and was posted to Migori to replace Beatrice Lukalo who retired.
