CS Magoha Urges Learners to trust What They have Learned In The Coming Exams

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has dismissed the narrative of failure that learners lost nine months of school time.

The CS told learners to be brave and said that the narrative of failure based on an earlier test is not meaningful.

The KCPE examination begins on March 19 while KCSE commences on March 25.

Prof Magoha was at Chavakali Boys in Vihiga County where he assessed the examination preparedness.

“We have made these examinations easier for learners – what they need is to think,” said CS Magoha.

The Education Cabinet Secretary implored learners to be smart enough and do the exams based on what they have learned.

Magoha said that the main objective of the examination was to enable the Ministry to find out what learners captured after resuming learning following the COVID-19 global pandemic.

“Do not commit suicide because you have not done this or that…focus on what you know and go on,” he said.

The Cabinet Secretary implored learners across the country to do their best even though schools were closed for a long time and this hurt the learning sector.

“The grades you get are not in the coming examinations are not a passport to hell. Do not let them be roadblocks in our life,” he told learners.

The CS said told learners to be positive about their grades, see them as useful and learn from what they score.

Magoha warned ‘merchants’ promising leakages of the examinations, saying that he will no let them walk free.

“This time I am not leaving anything to chance and I gave gotten powers to deal with merchants, especially in areas like Isbania, Kisii, and Migori where there is one notorious character,” said CS Magoha.

According to the CS, strict safety protocols shall ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic is not going to be an issue that derails the national examinations.
