What you need to Know ahead of KCPE Results Release Today

Around 1,244,188 candidates are anxiously waiting for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) set to be released today.

The results have been ready for some time and release was only held because President William Ruto was out of the country.

Now that he has returned, the results are going to be released.

In this article, we provide you with important information you need to keep in mind as results get released.

According to regulations, the Head of State must be briefed on the results before they are officially released to the public. This is done for security purposes.

The 2022 KCPE results shall be released in Nairobi City in a ceremony that will be held at Mitihani House. Mitihani House is now the new headquarters for the Kenya National Examinations Council. The Headquarters took 35 years to complete construction.

With the 8-4-4 curriculum set to be phased out from primary school next year, this year’s KCPE will be the second last. It will also be the first national examination that the new CS for Education Ezekial Machogu will release since his appointment to his current position.

“We are announcing KCPE examination results and you will not hear any cases of cheating under the leadership of Machogu. The grading of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE is going on well and I can assure you that the results will not be riddled with any irregularities,” said CS Machogu.

Following the release of KCPE examinations, Form One Selection is set to be done shortly after in order to give parents time to make preparations for their children before schools reopen on the 23rd of January 2023.

According to a circular issued on the 1st of November 2022 from the Principal Secretary (PS) for Basic Education, the candidates are set to join Form One on the 30th of January 2023.
