Week-Long Drama ends as School Receives ‘Ruto Bus’

Kianjai Girls Secondary School in Meru finally got a school bus last week on Friday after it caused a week-long saga.

The bus is a 42-seater and was driven to the Kianjai market before being taken to the school located in Tigania West Constituency. The form four students present in the school, as you would expect, were excited by the acquisition.

The bus had on it the words “fully funded by Tigania West CDF” inscribed on it.

Principal Kianjai Girls Secondary School, Mary Chule received the automobile saying it would alleviate transportation issues that the school had been undergoing especially during academic trips and extracurricular activities.

“Toda is a great day for Kianjai Secondary and the community of Kianjai as the bus we have been waiting for, for some time has been brought to the school. We will endeavor to develop the school and raise the academic standards,” she said to Nation Africa.

Kianjai Business Community chairperson Samson Kirimi said that the school bus will help the community and implored the residents to embrace development.

“We are happy as a business community,” said the Business Community Chairperson.

The former Member of County Assembly Ntoribi Etirika thanked the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto and the area Member of Parliament John Mutunga for the effort. The former MCA urged locals to stop dwelling on whether the bus had the same passenger capacity as the one launched.

“I have seen people saying it was smaller than the original one and I was wondering what role they played in its sourcing. People should stop spreading propaganda as we can see the bus here now,” the former MCA said to Nation Africa.

The saga surrounding the bus begun last week when a lobby calling themselves “Tigania Eye” demanded the details on the vehicle’s whereabouts after DP Ruto unveiled it last week.

Afterward, it was found out that the bus that the DP unveiled was from an Isuzu-authorized bodybuilder located in Thika.

Mp. Mutunga said Deputy William Ruto had contributed Sh. 3.5 million to the purchase to honor the promise he made to learners as they entertained him at the Urru Stadium in the year 2019.
