“Imagine the damage you’ve done to that young man who struggled to get himself an engineering degree then goes to apply for a job in another country then they are told you come from Kenya, you degrees are questionable then whose life have you ruined? You’ve ruined the future of thousands who are truly qualified,” said President Uhuru.
Uhuru said that the various universities should ensure that it is only those who deserve to get awarded academic qualifications.
“It is you who is responsible to know whether your degree is valid or not. It is through your integrity that you must make sure that it is only those who are deserving get awarded the degree in their various fields,” he added.
He explained that if the universities do not implement this they will be the ones to blame for ruining the opportunities for many Kenyans.
