Members of Parliament Urged To Protect NG-CDF For The Sake Of Education
The Head of State has asked the National assembly to safeguard and designate the National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) as a constitutional fund.
President William Ruto said that he wants NG-CDF to declare NG-CDF as a constitutional fund to ensure the progress of education in the country.
He said that the NG-CDF has occasioned the establishment of many schools and turned pupils into tens of thousands of students across the country.
“The single most important asset we have as a nation is our human capital, and the way to make it better is through education,” said President Ruto.
President Ruto addressed a church service that was held at Wanjohi Primary School in Kipipiri Constituency in Nyandarua County on Sunday where he was accompanied by Vice President Rigathi Gachagua, Cabinet Secretaries Zacharia Njeru (Lands) and Rebecca Miano (East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Regional Development), Nyandaruua Governor Ndirangu Badilisha and some legislators led by Majority Leader of the National Assembly Kimabi Ichung’wa.
President Ruto assured that his administration is committed to building up the opposition to make Kenya more open and honest.
However, he implored the opposition to implement their mandate in a peaceful and patrictic manner.
“We have no problem with what the opposition is doing to keep us in check. We believe in an accountable government,” said William Ruto.
President Ruto said that his administration is also committed to decreasing public borrowing and was pursuing policies and programs that will stimulate the economy.
In his view, the best method is generating enough money to support development.
