KNEC Releases Circular on Summative Assessment to Upload KILEA Papers
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released a circular regarding summative assessment which is to be done by today.

RE: ADMINISTRATION OF THE 2022 SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNERS AT THE INTERMEDIATE LEVEL-STAGE BASED PATHWAY
1.0 The Competency Based Assessment Framework (CBAF) provides for two pathways:
1.1 Age Based for regular learners including those with mild disabilities; and
1.2 Stage Based for learners with severe conditions in the categories of deafblind, severe cerebral palsy, severe autism, intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities.
2.0 The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) plans to administer a summative assessment, Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) to the first cohort of learners at Intermediate Level between November and December 2022.
3.0 KILEA will be offered in four (4) papers as follows:
3.1 Communication, Social and Literacy Skills;
3.2 Daily Living Skills and Religious Education;
3.3 Numeracy, Environmental and Psychomotor Activities;
3.4 Sensory Motor Integration and Creative Activities.
4.0 Learners to be presented for this assessment should:
4.1 Be registered and assigned an Assessment Number by KNEC
4.2 Have undertaken SBA for the intermediate level and outcomes of at least one (01) SBA be uploaded on to the KNEC portal.
5.0 Registration of learners and details of SBA could be accessed through the portal https://cba.knec.ac.ke
6.0 Teachers will be expected to administer the assessment within the specified period in the KILEA Timetable provided by KNEC, score the learner’s work and upload the learner’s outcomes onto the same portal.
7.0 Materials required for the performance of the tests should be obtained from the immediate school environment or improvised as much as possible.
8.0 KNEC will upload sample KILEA papers by 15th July 2022 for schools to access through their respective portals.
