TVET Reopening Calendar, KNEC Examinations, and New 2020/21 Term Dates
Following the directive from the Ministry of Education, the boards of Technical and Vocational training institutes (TVETs) have created the phased reopening calendar for all the TVET institutions with clear 2020/2021 term dates and KNEC examinations dates.
Through a circular MOE/VTT/1/5/43 (b) and dated 30Th September 2020, sent to all Principals/ Directors/ Managers of National Polytechnics, Technical & Vocational Colleges, Private Technical /Business Studies Colleges, the reporting dates are set to Monday the 5th of October 2020.
Summary of 2020/2021 TVET Academic Calendar
Term 1 of 2020/2021TVET Calendar
Term one will begin from 26th October 2020 to 29th January 2021.
A short term 1 break for Christmas is on 18th December 2020, through to 3rd January 2021.

Term 2 of 2020/2021TVET Calendar
Term two will begin from 15th February 2021 to 7th May 2021.
This is when the July and November 2020 cohort will be admitted.
Term 3 of 2020/2021TVET Calendar
TVET Third Term for 2020/21 academic calendar will begin from 24th May 2021 and will run-up to the 13th of August 2021.
KNEC examinations for the term will be done within the last two weeks of the term from the 2nd of August 2021, to 13th August 2021.

March 2020 KNEC Examination Dates
Examination Candidates report on the 5th of October 2020 to prepare for the rehearsals.
On 8th October 2020, the candidates will undergo the KNEC Rehearsal for the due exams.
TVET examinations (March 2020 KNEC Examinations) will begin on the 12th of October to the 23rd of October 2020.
July 2020 KNEC Examinations
The July 2020 KNEC Examinations candidates will report back on the 26th of October 2020. This is the dates when term 1 for the 2020/2021 academic calendar begins.
Registration for the July 2020 KNEC examinations will be open until the 28th of October 2020.
May and November 2020 KASNEB Examinations
The KASNEB exams for the May and November 2020 group will be from the 7th to 18th of December 2020.

TVET December Break
The TVET institutions will break for Christmas holidays from the 18th of December 2020. They will then resume on the 3rd of January 2021.
July 2020 KNEC Examinations Dates
The Kenya National Examinations Council KNEC exams for the July 2020 TVET class is scheduled for 18th to 29th of January 2021.
November 2020 KNEC Examinations Admissions and Dates
Admission of students for the July and November 2020 KNEC examinations will be from the 15th of February 2021.
The examination dates for this group are set for the 2nd to 13th of August 2021.
