TSC Reshuffles Principals

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has transferred principals of three schools located in Murang’a County.

The principal of Kiaguthu Boys School, Gerrison Mwangi has been transferred to Njiiri High School to replace the outgoing Kamau Chomba who is set to take charge of Alliance High School located in Kiambu area.

Mwangi on his part handed over leadership of Kiaguthu Boys located in Murang’a to Kagema Kibue of Karega Mixed Day Secondary School which is located in Kigumo area.

Mwangi has been working at Kiaguthu Boys since 2016 when he replaced Wilson Kamunya who had been transferred to Ndururumo High School located in Nyahururu area.

Mwangi left his station with his head held high with the school he is leaving having had a high number of students who qualified for university admission over the last six years.

“I have worked in several institutions and all were geared towards achieving better returns at the national level,” said Mwangi on the day that he began his tour around Njiiri the school where he is set to commence work.

Kagema was proud of having worked with all stakeholders to improve academic performances at Kiaguthu High School.

“It has been all about working hand in hand with stakeholders for the best interests of the students,” said Kagema.

Stephen Mburu got promoted and is set to replace Kagema at Karega Secondary. He is a former teacher at St. Mary Lioki in Kiambu.

The teachers’ employer announced in March this year that it had plans to balance staffing in schools across the country.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Teachers Service Commission has revealed that the Commission was seeking to have a proportionate number of teachers in public schools after it was revealed that some schools had excess teachers while others were understaffed.

Some tutors will be transferred from schools with more teachers to schools that have fewer teachers.

The exercise of reshuffling school heads is intended to improve the teacher-to-learner ratio.
