Teacher Suspended for Invigilating Exams with a Gun

A 26-year old Secondary school teacher has been suspended after he was seen invigilating an exam while carrying a gun.

The teacher was captured on video as he was walking around the class. He had the gun braced on his shoulder.

The video which went viral online also captured the pupils busy writing their exams.

The incident took place on Monday 4th this month at Mabusabesala Secondary School. A public school located in Siyabiswa town, Mpumalanga Province in South Africa.

Mpumalanga Department of Education officials confirmed the incident.

They said the teacher was filmed with a gun hanging in his hand as the grade 11 pupils were attending to their mid-year examinations.
It has been confirmed that the pupils on video were writing the tourism paper at the time of the incident.

“The teacher has been suspended”, said the education department.

The department further added that Mabusabesala Secondary School has been instructed to initiate a legal case with the police due to the nature of the incident.

“We have commenced investigations to unravel the motives behind the teacher’s conduct”, said the education department.

The department went a head to assure the parents of the school and the general public that they will closely monitor the any developments in the school.

“We advice those involved in our children’s character moulding and upbringing to always stick to the high moral standards already set. We will not tolerate any contrary, no matter the circumstance”, warned the Mpumalanga Department of Education.

“We urge all teachers and other education stakeholders to help in maintaining dignity of the teaching profession and report those who do the contrary”, ended the department.
