Principal Arrested As All Candidates at a Nyamira Private Centre under Investigation over KCSE Chemistry Examination Leakage
All candidates except one are under probe for allegedly accessing Chemistry examination leakage.
The private center at the Nyamira Secondary School has eight candidates registered and have been sitting for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
The police, The Ministry of Education, and the Kenya Nation Examinations Council officials are seeking to establish whether the leakage was a genuine one or not.
One of the KCSE candidates had gotten the questions on Whatsapp. She then proceeded to write the answers down on an exercise book and shared them with other students,
After the issue was reported, a few individuals were arrested and taken to Nyamira and Manga police Stations.
Among the individuals arrested was the Principal of Kiabiraa Secondary School, the examination supervisor, invigilators, and Chemistry teachers at the school.
Nyamira County Commissioner Mr. Amos Mariba confirmed the incident and urged teachers and parents as well as candidates to avoid cheating in the examinations as eventually, the long arm of the government will catch them.
“Candidates should report anyone who tries to confuse them with the authorities since they could face action and have their examination results canceled,” said Mr. Amos Omariba.
