P1 and ECDE Teachers Set To Undergo Diploma Training This September

Primary Teacher Education (PTE) teachers and Early Childhood Education (ECDE) teachers are set to undergo the Diploma upgrading programme this September.

The first group is already out and is just waiting for their practicum this September before being awarded a Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) Diploma upgrade certificate.

According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), the training will equip the teachers with skills that are crucial for the implementation of the CBC.

TSC also revealed that teachers who have undergone the upgrading programme will be favoured in recruitment by giving them extra marks during the TSC interviews.

Teachers interested in undergoing the September training were asked to apply by the 15th of August in order to allow verification of original certificates and testimonials.

“Dully filled application forms should be submitted to the Sub-County Director of Education offices from Thursday 28th July 2022 to Thursday 15th August 2022 by applicants in person to ease verification of original certificates and testimonials,” Education PS Julius Juan said through an advert.

The MoE also provided a programme guide for the intake process.

According to the released programme, selected applicants will report to their respective colleges on Tuesday 27th September 2022 (one-day reporting).
