Magoha Asks For Forgiveness from Anyone He Offended During His Tenure
The outgoing Cabinet Secretary for Education Prof George Magoha has apologized to Kenyans that he might have offended during his tenure in office.
CS Magoha was speaking last week on the 17th of August after Commissioning phase two of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) classroom at Mwangaza Secondary School that is located in Kayole in Nairobi County.
“It has not been easy to be the CS for Education and in order to move things forward, I have been very firm and sometimes extremely firm in between the firmness one can say I started jokes. I want to say that if any of those jokes went in the wrong direction that was not the intention of my apologies to the public. There is nobody who is perfect,” said CS Magoha.
Magoha revealed that he believes he got the opportunity to serve Kenyans due to God’s grace.
“I have respect for everybody from the lowest to the highest. I get my courage first from God and second from Starehe Boys Training Centre. We are eagles and we fly high and are not afraid, and we deliver as eagles even if you don’t like us.
“If during that process we looked as if we were arrogant, then we seek your forgiveness, but not that we are about to change. Eagles keep on flying and when the eagles are flying, they just disappear in the air, is what is going to happen to us” said CS Magoha.
CS Magoha took the reigns from the current CS for Interior Dr Fred Matiang’i.
Potential Message to Uasin Gishu CDE?
Kenyans can remember that in November 2020, Gitonga Mbaka, the immediate former Uasihn County Director of Education was the victim of Magoha’s “wewe ni mjinga” slur who decided to forgive Magoha not long after the incident.
Following the incident, CS Magoha reminded Kenyans that nobody is perfect regardless of age or social standing on November 13, 2020.
“I would like to state without fear of contradiction that in my life, which is not very young and not very old, I have learnt that nobody is perfect. If anybody has seen a perfect person you should tell me that person. What drives me is practising Christianity,” saied CS Magoha.
