KNEC circular on the handling of candidates for 2020 KCPE and KCSE Exams

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released an important circular on the handling of candidates of the 2020 KCPE and KCSE candidates’ examinations.

This comes after several media outlets have revealed that some KCPE and KCSE schools shut down due to the economic recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

KNEC reveals that affected candidates who have been registered should not miss the all-important tests and can enroll at any public schools that are within where they are currently residing.

“The council wishes to inform you that candidates from such schools should be hosted in public school/institution identified within the Sub-county,” says KNEC Boss Dr. Mercy Karogo.

Dr. Karogo said that information on the schools that closed and the school identified as the host school should reach KNEC by 15th February 2021.

The registration of the 2020 KCPE and KCSE candidates ended on 15th February 2020 and preparations are underway for the administration of the upcoming national examinations.

All KCSE private candidates are set to sit for their theoretical and practical examination papers in one center.

KCPE and KCSE Centres that have less than fifteen (15) candidates should be in examination centers that KNEC shall approve as KNEC will not allocate a supervisor to these centers.
