CS Magoha: I Will Not Apologize
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha today (Wednesday, November 2020) insisted that he will not apologize after a video showed him insulting a junior official.
The CS Magoha was implored to apologize by a teachers’ union official from Uasin Gishu County who did rounds online.
In the video clip recorded last Friday as Prof George Magoha made a sudden visit without notice to Langas Primary School in Eldoret, the CS was annoyed and allegedly called Dr. Gitonga Mbaka a “fool” before cameras, teachers, and other officials.
Speaking to the press a short time after he visited Kyamutheke Primary School in Machakos today, the CS said that some officials of Education working in the field are not accustomed to working.
“Nobody should be surprised at how I work, I was in KNEC (the Kenya National Examinations Council). I made things to work and I am here now to safeguard the interests of the parents and their children. If I do not do (my work) I cannot have any business being here,” said Prof George Magoha.

The Cabinet Secretary for Education also said that there are people in his ministry who do not share his vision for the sector and are not willing to follow his directions.
“If you have 30 schools in your area and by the end of the month you have not visited even just 10 of them, then what business do you have getting paid? Implementers must follow directions or I will make them do.
“We need to give our children what they deserve and the government that is spending a lot of money on them,” said Prof Magoha.
