Joy As KCPE Candidate Completes Exams after Delivering

There was joy at Rumate Primary School at Oldonyiro after a Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) sat for her examinations after delivering successfully on Wednesday.

Another KCPE Candidate was in labour pains as she sat for her examinations at Emejen Primary School in Isiolo County.

According to the County Director of Education for Isiolo James Nyaga, the girl did her examinations on Tuesday and Wednesday while in the condition as medical officers revealed that she was almost delivering.

“The girl in labour pains is in the school while the other who delivered is sitting for her examinations at the dispensary,” said Nyaga after he oversaw the opening of an examination container outside the office of the County Commissioner’s office in Isiolo Town.

Unfortunately in another incident, another girl got into an accident that involved a motorbike and a military bus in Isiolo town in March this year while she was taking her 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations will get a chance to sit for this year’s KCSE examinations as from tomorrow.

The young girl, Halima Kinya was going home while on the motorbike on the evening of the 17th of March after she had sat for her third paper when she was injured after the bus had rammed into the rear of the motorcycle.

Her injuries curtailed her examinations and she was forced to transfer to Kenyatta National Hospital where she was admitted for several months.

The County Director confirmed that the candidate was among those sitting for examinations this year and she will do her examinations at Waso Secondary School located in Bulapesa Ward.

A grade six pupil in Tharaka Nithi at Kirundi Primary School passed away on Tuesday after she was hit by a lorry in Kamathina areas when she was going home.

The pupil who was sitting her Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) was alighting from a moving lorry which it was alleged that he had helped load when he fell and was run over by the same lorry.

According to locals, the young boy had gone to the river after completing his papers for the day to do the work. It is not clear whether his parents were aware or whether the young boy only wanted quick cash.
