TSC Reveals New Annual Leave Allowance Rates Paid to Teachers End of January
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has revealed that teachers employed by the Commission will be paid an extra allowance at the end of this month (January 2023).
The extra pay will be from the annual leave allowance which teachers are paid once in a year. They are paid at a rate based on their job grades.
Teachers are entitled to various leaves including thirty days of annual leave which can be granted during school holidays.
A teacher employed by the Commission is entitled to thirty days annual leave with full pay in respect of each calendar year worked irrespective of the terms and conditions of service.
According to the Commission, annual leave shall only be taken during school holidays and not be accumulated to be carried forward from year to year.
Application for annual should only be made during school holidays and in a manner directed in Twenty Seventh Schedule of the TSC Code of Regulations for teachers (CORT);
Starting from the 1st of December, the Commission automated almost all of its services including applications for leave using the online platform. The leaves available for application on the online system are sick leave, annual leave, compassionate leave, paternity leave, maternity leave, study leave, special leave, adoption leave, and the spouse of Diplomat Leave.
The following are the TSC Leave Allowance rates paid to teachers according to CBA 2021-2025 and as indicated in Circular 14/2021.
The leave allowances are issued according to job grades/job groups.
