School Reports Differs from the One Issued by Hospital about Form 3 Girl’s Death
The deceased’s family said that her daughter’s school and the doctors at the hospital to which she was rushed after getting ill gave varying accounts about the issue.
According to the deceased’s mother, the school called her around 11 p.m. on Monday, the 21st of November requesting her presence immediately.
However, when she arrived, she found out that her daughter had already died. According to her, her daughter had died before the school called her.
“Because it was late, I told the teacher to allow me to go the following morning, but she insisted that my daughter was unwell and that I should go without fail. I had to look for a motorbike to get there,” she said.
The family revealed that medical personnel revealed that she had already died when she arrived at the hospital.
“The school told us they took her to the hospital when she was still alive, although medics indicated that she had already passed on by the time they got to the hospital, said the girl’s uncle.
It has been revealed that the young girl had developed issues the night before as other learners were getting ready to go to bed.
The devastated mother has yet to accommodate her daughter’s passing with the situation surrounding her daughter’s death. She called on the Ministry of Education to probe the situation as soon as possible.
“Teachers told me that she developed breathing complications when they were going to sleep, but my concern is why they did not call me when she was unwell,” lamented the mother.
The mother also expressed her discontent with the school administration inquiring if her daughter had experienced any health issues despite remembering that she had accompanied her daughter to the school at the beginning of the term.
In another incident, a learner also died in a school in Nairobi after plunging from her dormitory’s balcony.
The student had been affected by her parent’s divorce.
