President Kenyatta Appreciated Efforts of the 2020 KCSE Candidates
On Monday the 10th of May, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta appreciated the efforts of the 2020 KCSE candidates for an excellent performance despite challenges caused by the novel coronavirus.
While speaking at State House in Nairobi, the Head of State received the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results prior to their release to the public.
Uhuru also heaped praise on the education sector stakeholders for the smooth administration of the national examinations.
Cabinet Secretary for Education Prof George Magoha presented the results to President Uhuru at a briefing that was attended by the Head of Public Service Dr. Joseph Kinyua, TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, and Early Learning and Basic Education PS Dr. Julius Jwan.
With today’s announcement of the KCSE results, candidates can now prepare to be admitted to universities, technical learning institutions, and colleges.
The Head of State also witnessed the swearing-in of Prof Fatuma Chege as Principal Secretary of the new State Department for the Implementation of Curriculum Reforms within the Ministry of Education.
President Kenyatta also expressed his confidence in Prof Fatuma Chege’s ability to perform. The president tasked her with the new responsibilities, with the knowledge that she had been at the forefront in the development of the curriculum and that she knows what is required.
