Sossion Calls KNUT ADC Ahead Of September 2021 Elections

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion has notified all KNUT branch secretaries of the upcoming Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) that will lead to the election of national leadership in September.

In a letter dated the 22nd of April 2021, Wilson Sossion said that the nomination of the delegates to the Annual Delegates Conference will be guided by the Branch Executive Council (BECs).

KNUT, unlike the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Teachers (KUPPET) will hold their Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) through physical meeting and not virtual ones.

Sossion said that this years’ ADC will have two agendas and urged branches to prepare well for the ADC and all facets of the Union should play their roles effectively to ensure that the ADC is a success.

There has been tension that KNUT might not hold their ADC after Sossion released a circular that suspended elections in some branches because of the surge of the novel coronavirus.

The delegates are also expected to address the leadership conflicts that have tainted the once giant and glorious teachers’ union.

Mr. Sossion is set to face off with Kericho KNUT secretary, Stanley Mutai for the top seat of the union.

Sossion warned regions against grabbing other regions’National Steering Seats for the sake of peace and order prevailing in the Union.

Below is Sossion’s notice to all to all KNUT branches.
