KUCCPS Opens Second Revision Window for 2025 University Applicants

NAIROBI — The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a second application window for 2025 Form Four leavers. The portal will remain accessible until May 22, 2026, allowing candidates to revise their university choices or submit fresh applications.

This second phase targets students who either missed out on their preferred courses during the initial application window, which closed on May 6, or those who are yet to apply. KUCCPS has already notified applicants who secured provisional degree placement via SMS and the official portal.

Second Revision Window Open Until May 22

KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome urged all eligible candidates to capitalize on this opportunity.

“We call upon all 2025 Form Four leavers who qualified for degree programmes but have not applied for placement, and those who applied but have not secured a course, to log into the system and apply again,” Dr. Wahome stated.

Official data reveals that 212,510 students who scored a mean grade of C+ and above in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams have already applied for various degree courses. This represents 79.1% of the 268,714 candidates who met the minimum university entry grade.

Competitive Degree Programs Filled

Due to intense competition and limited capacity, several highly sought-after degree programs are no longer available. Courses in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Engineering were completely filled during the first application phase and have subsequently been removed from the portal.

“We encourage students who applied for these programmes but missed them due to competition to apply for available programmes,” added Dr. Wahome.

Educators and career guidance experts, regularly featured on platforms like teacher.co.ke, continue to advise students to remain open-minded and select alternative career pathways that align with market demands.

Opportunities in KMTC, Utalii, and TVET Institutions

Beyond degree courses, KUCCPS is currently facilitating continuous, modular-based placement for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC), and Kenya Utalii College.

Several KMTC diploma courses remain open on a rolling basis, including Community Health, Mortuary Science, Health Records and Information Technology, Medical Engineering, Physiotherapy, and Public Health. Eight certificate courses are also available.

However, applicants should note that KMTC programs for Nursing, Clinical Medicine, and Pharmacy are currently unavailable and will reopen for the September intake.

For candidates interested in the hospitality sector, Kenya Utalii College is offering a Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry Management, alongside certificates in Front Office Operations and Housekeeping and Laundry Operations. These non-degree programs are open to anyone who sat for KCSE between 2000 and 2025.

Placement Support at Huduma Centres

To ensure a seamless process, KUCCPS has decentralized its support services. Career guidance officers have been stationed at 23 KMTC campuses nationwide.

Furthermore, KUCCPS has partnered with the Huduma Kenya Secretariat. Universal Service Agents are now fully trained and available at all 59 Huduma Centres across the country to assist students with their placement applications.
