The Kenya National Examinations Council KNEC has allowed the candidates to register for the KCSE 2020 examinations without necessarily having the NEMIS Unique Personal Identification UPI numbers.
Removal of the UPI requirement in the registration process will lighten up many candidates who were having a hard time to register.
KNEC had necessitated the UPI numbers in the KCSE registration process.
However, most examination centres were finding it difficult to register candidates who did not have the UPI numbers or those who would not remember them.
Those greately affected were are the form four repeaters who did not remember their UPI details as they were given in their former schools.
