Midday Fire Strikes Masosa Girls High School
A fire broke out at Masosa Girls High School in Nyamira County, shortly after the lunch hour, severely damaging one of the institution’s three dormitories. All students are reported safe, with no injuries sustained during the incident.
The inferno ignited while learners were attending afternoon classes. According to exclusive reports provided to teacher.co.ke, the blaze consumed half of the affected dormitory, completely razing its roof before it could be contained.
Suspected Foul Play
School administrators and authorities noted an absence of student unrest, riots, or strikes that often precede school fires in the region. Because the damaged dormitory is situated close to a public road, preliminary suspicions point to potential foul play by external parties.
Sources from the school confirmed that the incident was isolated to a single building, sparing the other two dormitories on the compound.
Ongoing Investigations
The school’s Board of Management has convened to deliberate on immediate measures to accommodate the affected students and manage the crisis. Official investigations into the exact cause of the fire are currently underway.
In the interim, the administration has reassured parents and guardians that the situation is under control and all students remain secure within the school premises.
