Parents of learners who sat for their 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in Kisii County have protested against the principal to Amariba Secondary School located in Kisii County over poor results.
The angry parents broke into the school on Wednesday the 1st of February and ejecter Mr Oriri from his office and even threatened to assault him if he did not leave the school compound without protest.
They claimed that the principal had overseen a drop of the overall school mean score from 5.2 to 2.0 since taking over from the previous principal.
“The principal only lends the school bus to ferry to funerals while our school is lagging behind,” said one of the parents.
When the principal refused to leave, the irate parents carried leaves and sang war songs while approaching his car.
The principal, upon sensing danger, hoped into his automobile and drove quickly to Itumbe Police Station.
In another incident, Principal of Riambase DEB Secondary School in Nyamache Sub-County Mrs. Tabitha Mogonchi has been transferred to Kereri Girls High School.
The transfer comes after she had spent the last four years at her former station after moving in from Kerongotori Secondary School located in Kenyenya Sub-County.
She will now replace Esther Ong’ondi of Kereri Girls.
There have been reshuffles in other secondary schools with new headteachers having been sent to Nyankoba and Gesusu Boys High School.
Gideon Nyakundi and James Momanyi from Kiembe from Migori County and Agoro Sare of Homa Bay County will be heading Nyankoba and Gesusu Boys High School respectively.
