The education Cabinet Secretary, Prof. George Magoha has hinted he’s planning to ambush schools throughout the country.
The CS was addressing teachers, parents, and participants ate the just concluded Kenya National Drama and Film Festival (KNDFF) Gala at Kibabii University in Bungoma County.
He said, “I will come to your schools like a submarine.” The CS intends to find out the state of affairs in schools.
“I want to know what and how Kenyan children are taught. Teachers, teach CBC curriculum the right way,” said the professor. He was emphasizing that the teachers should teach the right content and in a correct way.
The Education CS requested all teachers to always avail themselves at their respective work-stations.
The Professor – a specialist in medicine – hit the national headlines when he ambushed colleague workers at the Ministry’s offices. Being a ‘Friday’, most workers had not turned up or were away. He however sent a strong warning shot saying that business will not be as usual at the Ministry.
Later on in the same week or so, images of the CS taken while attending a lesson in a public primary school was circulating throughout the social media.
Known for his tactical and hands-on approach, the CS has promised to streamline activities in the Ministry of Education.

Kuja tu. Watoto si ni wa serikali. By the way,its the ministry officials who gain from every new programme that is launched. Nobody monitors whether u teach CBC well or not.Infact the lazier you are the high chances u get to become a headteacher. …Schools are headed by same people until retirement. They are analogue n don’t give room for digital era. They spend all day in cyber cafe yet schools are equiped with laptops…
You have over generalized my fren. My age is double that of some my colleagues. My view is that the youth being more digital is neither here nor there. 2019 form class teacher collected cash for KCSE passport photos. He did such awkward job. He couldn’t edit photos to 132pix by 170pix. I had to undo entire charges job and redo. I didn’t charge the candidates; he didn’t share the money he had charged. Would you wish to change your attitude about the old teachers.
Hahaha! It sounds ridiculous, or should I say dramatic irony. Is he the same guy who dismissed Dr. Fred Matiangi from the University of Nairobi that he is not qualified to be a lecturer? I guess Matiangi was overqualified. The PROF learnt from him.
