A primary school teacher from Masaba North, Nyamira County is at large after allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl he used to teach.
The pupil had done her 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) national examination and gotten her results on Thursday last week.
Masaba North Deputy County Commissioner David Lusava confirmed the incident saying that parents to the primary school child reported the issue.
Lasava also said that the family suspected that the teacher had been having a long relationship with the girl. They said they proved this the last weekend.
Issue Was Reported, But the Teacher was Not Arrested
“The issue was reported but, unfortunately, the teacher was not arrested, as he had already escaped by the time action was taken. Efforts are being made to trace the suspect,” Lusava said.
Besides, Lusava added that the case was the fourth such recorded in the past three days.
Nakuru School Principal Arrested for Engaging in Sexual Act With Form 4 Student
In another incident, a principal to a secondary school was arrested yesterday after allegedly engaging in a sexual act with a Form 4 girl at his house in Kuresoi in Nakuru County.
Kiptagich Location Chief Wycliffe Too, confirmed the incident as he revealed that the Chebotoi Secondary School Principal, Mr. Leornard Baraza was arrested following information sent reported to the police by residents in the area.
The girl is said to be of age 21 years but her birth certificate of Identification Card has not been found to confirm the age. The girl told the police that she went to the tutor’s house after completing her KCSE paper yesterday evening.
The two individuals were taken to Kiptagich police station before the girl was taken to Kiptagich Health Centre where a medical examination confirmed that she had indeed had sexual intercourse with the teacher.
The girl was allowed to go home with her parents while the principal was kept in police custody until 11 pm when he was released on free bond as the police wait for the girl to produce her birth certificate before further action is taken.
