NITA Invites Sponsorships Applications for Engineering Courses (Craft and Diploma Levels)

The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has announced 25 openings for sponsorships for female students from needy backgrounds.

The authority has been offering sponsorships since 2006 when the sponsorship program was launched. Up to the moment of the advert, three hundred and fifty (350) female students have benefitted from the program from marginal areas across the country.

Kenyan female students from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) who wish to pursue engineering courses at craft and diploma levels have been invited to apply. The marginal areas covered under the program are Baringo, Kuria, Makueni, Transmara, Mbeere, Tharaka, Mwingi, Kitui, Mt. Elgon, Teso, Taita Taveta, Kilifi, Kajiado, Suba, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Samburu, Marsabit, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Ijara, Kwale, West Pokot, Wajir, Lamu, Turkana and Mandera.

When will the sponsored students join respective Public Technical Training Institutions?

Successful applicants will be sponsored for various Public Technical Training Institutions across the country starting from May 2022.

What disciplines will be sponsored?

The training opportunities that will be provided under the sponsorship are clustered as follows.

1. Building/Civil Engineering

2. Surveying

3. Automotive

4. Electrical/Electronics

5. Agricultural Engineering

6. Mechanical Engineering

Criteria for Eligibility

Applicants will be required to possess an aptitude towards a technical career and be willing to learn besides meeting the following academic requirements:

Diploma

•             KCSE Mean Grade of C (Plain) with at least C+ (Plus) in Mathematics, C (Plain) in Physics and English

Craft

•             KCSE Minimum Mean Grade of D+ (Plus), with at least C- (Minus) in Mathematics,  D+ (Plus) in Physics and English
