The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Teachers (KUPPET) has implored the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to promote teachers who have been stuck in job grades C3 and C4.
While addressing the media at Emusire Boys High School in Emuhaya constituency in Vihiga County during the finals of the Anyole Super Cup, KUPPET National Chairperson Hon Jeremiah Omboko Milemba said that even though the affected teachers have served in the same job groups for a long time and even some having furthered their studies, the Commission has not yet promoted them.
Milemba urged the Commission to ensure that the expected teacher recruitment drive is done in a transparent manner without corruption, nepotism, and favoritism.
Milemba is also the Emuhaya Member of Parliament.
He suggested that TSC considers teachers who graduated earlier with President William Ruto’s pledge of ensuring the recruitment of 30,000 in the current fiscal year and more than 180,000 teachers by the year 2027 in a bid to address the notable shortage of teachers across the country.
Hon Milemba said that he will continue nurturing talents among youths in various disciplines like Performing Arts and Sports.
