Placement of 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates to various secondary schools has been completed.
Placement was done based on the candidates’ performance in the 2023 KCPE examination..
Kenyan schools are classified into either National, Extra County, County or Sub-County schools.
2023 KCPE candidates who scored above 400 marks will be given priority to join national schools. There are 136 national school in Kenya. Out these, 35 are special-needs education secondary schools.
However, this year, thousands of candidates who did not attain 400 marks may join national schools which have a capacity of more than 30,000 students.
Procedure of Checking Secondary School Selection via SMS Code 22263
You can get your joining instructions for all schools through the website link www.education.go.keor verify results via SMS by texting the Candidate’s index number to 22263 to check your secondary school selection. The SMS will cost KES 25 and works across Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom.
How to Download Form One 2023 Admission Letter
Once you (2023 KCPE Candidate) have confirmed your admission to a secondary school, you can follow the procedures below to download your letter.
- On www.education.go.ke, go to Form One 2023 admission letter.
- Select the county and sub-county you sat your KCPE then key in your index number and Submit.
- Click on admission letter located at the bottom of the page to get a copy of your admission letter.
- Use the printer icon to print or the download icon to download to your computer.
- Get your primary school headteacher to endorse the letter and stamp it in the spaces provided.
- You will then present it for admission together with a certified copy of your birth certificate.
