Unknown people shot dead an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teacher of age 40 years old on Tuesday night in Koyolo sub-location in Rangwe, Homa Bay County.
Clinis Atieno Ojenge who had been a Homa Bay County government worker at the ECDE center in Gul Kagembe Primary School died on the spot after being shot while in her homestead.
The alleged gangsters reportedly broke into her home at around 9:00 am and found her washing utensils near the door of her house and then shot her three times.
A stray bullet also hit her nine –year old daughter in the stomach causing serious injury.
The young girl was taken to Asumbi Mission Hospital before she was transferred to the Kisii Level Five Hospital where she was admitted.
Homa Bay County government administrator in charge of the Sub-County of Rangwe revealed tat the deceased was shot after returning home from work.
Simba condemned the attack and implored the Police in the area to investigate the matter and bring the criminals to justice.
The mother-in –law to the Teresa Adera said that she is not in the know regarding the attack as Mrs Ojenge was not known to have any conflict with anyone in the area that could lead to such an attack.
Residents in the area have threatened to hold peaceful demonstrations if the police do not arrest the suspects soon.
Home Bay Sub-County Directorate of Criminal Investigations on his part said that an investigation had already been started to find out who killed the humble ECDE teacher.
