The cabinet secretary of Education, Prof. George Magoha, has once again assured Kenyans that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations KCSE 2019 results will be out before Christmas.
Prof. Magoha was addressing the parents, teachers, and students of Kapsisiywa Secondary school in Nandi County when he hinted on the 2019 KCSE results release day.
Government Puts Measures to Ensure KCSE 2019 Results are Released before Christmas
The CS gave a cheque of 100 million for the construction of a library and teachers’ offices. The money was a donation from President Uhuru Kenyatta as a tribute and appreciation to Eliud Kipchoge.
Magoha said that the ministry of education has put measures in place to ensure that the KCSE 2019 examinations results are released before Christmas.
The Education CS further added that the Government through the ministry is managing the KCSE marking process very well. And that he wasn’t at liberty to disclose any detailed information.
He, however, said, “What I assured the President and the Public earlier on was that we shall go to Christmas after we have known how the children performed.”
The professor added that the early release of examinations results would help parents and guardians to manage their finances accordingly and not to spend the whole of it in the Christmas holidays.
Professor Magoha also said that projects he delivered the cheque for will be completed by June 2020.
The Eneos 159 Celebrity athlete, Eliud Kipchoge, thanked the president for fulfilling his promise to Kapsisiywa.
“Let us support the President, and the CS Magoha as far as education is concerned,” said Kipchoge.
The KCSE 2018 examinations results were released on a Friday of 21st December, just 4 days to Christmas.
Exam Cheating Reduced in KCSE 2019
In comparison to the 2018 KCSE, this year saw reduced cases of student pregnancies and examinations malpractices.
This year’s KCSE had 26 individuals arrested by the police and several phones confiscated from private candidates.
2018 had an increased number of KCSE Examinations center cancellations due to cheating. Over 3, 400 candidates did not get their examination results across the 44 centres . In 2017 KCSE results, only 1,205 students missed getting the results.
KUCCPS is expected to start university selection and placement of the KCSE 2019 candidates, immediately after the official release of results.
Kenyans are waiting to see if the ‘C+ and above grade’ university entry requirement is going to be raised. All the candidates who met this requirement have been enrolled under the government sponsorship program.
