Teachers are required to complete their onboarding process on the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS). Navigating the initial login process can be managed efficiently by following a specific sequence of steps.
Step-by-Step Guide to Accessing the Portal
Step 1: Initiating the Password Reset
To begin, navigate to the official KEMIS landing page using your preferred web browser. Click on the login icon. Enter your registered email address in the username field. Leave the password field empty and select the ‘Forgot Password’ option. The system will prompt you to enter your username again; input the same email address and submit the request.
Step 2: Retrieving the System-Generated Password
Next, check your email inbox for a message from the KEMIS system containing a temporary, system-generated password. Copy this password and return to the KEMIS login page. Enter your email address as the username and paste the temporary password into the designated field to proceed.
Step 3: Setting a New Password
After your initial login with the temporary password, the system will require you to create a new, secure password. The new password must be at least 8 characters long and include a mix of different character types for enhanced security. Once you have successfully updated your password, you will be logged out automatically. Log in one final time using your email address and the newly created password to access your KEMIS dashboard.
