Youths Urged To Maintain Peace during Elections Period
The Principal Secretary in the State Department for Social Protection Nelson Marwa has implored the youth to maintain peace during and after the August 9 General Elections.
Speaking today at the Isebania border after holding a consultative meeting with the Abagusi community living in the Kuria Region of Migori County, Marwa called on the youth to avoid violence during this period of elections.
He also said that the main interest of the government is seeing that the nation experiences a peaceful elections period.
According to the PS, children, youth and women are the most affected in case of any incidences of violence and warned politicians against inciting the youth to cause violence during the period of elections.
He revealed adequate security has been beefed up in the area to deal with any incidences of insecurity which may occur during the period of elections.
