Grade 6 Learners Will Be Tested In These Areas
Grade 6 learners across the country are set to sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) which is set to be the final examination in primary school.
Grade Six Learners will do examinations in Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Kenyan Sign Language, Science and Technology, Physical and Health Education, Agriculture, Home Science, Social Studies, Art and Craft, Christian Religious Education, Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and Hindu Religious Education (HRE).
The subjects will be combined in five examination papers namely Mathematics, English and Kiswahili with Integrated Sciences (IS) combining Science and Technology and will combine the subjects of Home Science, Agriculture and Physical Health while creative Art and Social Sciences (CASS) combining Art and Craft, Music, Social Studies and Religious Education (CRE, IRE and HRE).
KPSEA will have 100% score with 60% of that coming from School Based Assessment (SBA) which they did while in Grade Four, Five and Six and 40% coming from the final summative assessment set to be done this month.
In the KPSEA examinations, there will be 5 question papers with all questions being multiple-choice questions with no Composition and no Insha.

Activities for teachers
1 (a) List all the strands in your learning area from Grades 4 -6 as given in the curriculum design.
(b) Create a chart of strands and sub-strands in your learning area from 4 – 6.
2 (a) Identify the strands tested in your learning area using a KNEC paper.
(b) Identify which strands have more questions than others.
