Education CAS: All Class Eight Candidates Will Join Form One
Education CAS Dr Sarah Ruto has announced that all class eight learners who shall sit for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination will all transition to form one regardless of the marks they will attain.
While in Eldoret where she oversaw the opening of examination containers, Dr Sarah Ruto said that every child will transition to form one regardless of the marks they will get.
“I am assuring all students who are sitting for this year’s examination will be promoted to Form one. The government will ensure that we have one hundred per cent transition,” said CAS for Education to the media.
Uasin Gishu has 29107 candidates currently sitting for their KCPE. Out of this, 14,608 are girls while 14,499 are boys.
Besides, Dr Sarah Ruto warned both teachers and pupils against cheating saying that anyone found culpable will face the law.
“I am sternly warning teachers or students planning to engage in examination malpractices that they will be arrested and charged. The cost of cheating is very expensive, we want students to get the marks they deserve that they have worked for,” said Dr Sarah.
Dr Sarah said that they have beefed up security to ensure that the examinations can run without any hiccups,” added Dr Sarah.

“We have beefed up security in all the 678 examination centres in the county where each manager is accompanied by a security officer who shall give maximum security to students who are sitting for the national examinations,” added Dr Sarah Ruto.
The Education CAS warned politicians against using schools to conduct their campaigns saying that it is unlawful.
“We will not allow politicians to play politics with children and do direct campaigns in schools. This is not the right time and anyone who will be found culpable will face the full force of the law. We want to protect the sanctity of our schools as well as learners,” added Dr Sarah Ruto.
