What is a TSC payslip?
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) payslip is a document that is generated every month that contains details of the earnings of a teacher. It is important to note that we are only talking about a payslip involving individuals who are registered and employed with TSC.
One qualifies to be a teacher in a primary or secondary school if they meet the required qualifications. Click here to know more about the Minimum TSC Requirements for registration as a teacher in Kenya.
The payslip is generated from the TSC Payroll and is downloadable from the TSC payslips portal (T-Pay). The address for T-Pay is available on this link https://payslip.tsc.go.ke/
What information does the payslip contain?
The payslip contains the following important information.
- Teacher’s allowances.
- Teacher’s deductions.
- Teacher’s monthly gross pay.
Deductions from a teacher’s pay may include statutory deductions (such as Pay As You Earn -PAYE and the National Hospital Fund -NHIF), income tax, and other third party deductions.
Third-party deductions involve amounts remitted unions of teachers, SACCOs, and other deductions.
What Is The Difference Between Statutory Deductions And Third Party Deductions?
Third-Party deductions, unlike statutory deductions, may not be mandatory. Statutory deductions are mandatory. For instance, you cannot choose not to pay individual income tax as opposed to when you are able to opt-out of a Burial Benevolent Fund – BBF.

Eligibility to Access Online Payslips
In order for a teacher to be eligible to access payslips online, he or she must be registered. To be registered one has to visit his or her local TSC County office. Previously, teachers could do this online but it seems for some reason TSC has decided to require a physical visit to their offices for this issue.
How to Log into your T-Pay account
The process of logging into your T-pay account is very simple. All that is needed is your TSC Number and Password. To facilitate the acquisition of a loan, the TSC system provides the feature that teachers can use to send their latest payslip to third parties such as SACCOS and Banks.

Under what circumstances will you need to reset your T-Pay account password?
Imagine having to memorize the password for your PayPal account, your Facebook, twitter, and google accounts. Add your new T-Pay account password to this, and you might find yourself forgetting or even confusing your passwords. This happens in most cases if every account has a different password. This is because many people do not have password managers installed on their devices. So, when they do not remember their passwords, the only option is to go for a password reset.
What Password Managers Do We Recommend For You To Avoid Resetting Your T-Pay Account Password Every Time?
Firstly, we suggest you use the google password manager. You can just type in ‘google password manager’ on the search bar and then select from the suggested appropriate link.
This comes in handy but can only be helpful after you have created a Google Account and you are logged in.
Another option is to install a password management software such as antiviruses like the Kaspersky Password manager or use the McFee option for password management. However, you will need to purchase this antivirus software as they come at a cost. Before you are able to access the password managers.
