Secretary-General Wilson Sossion and the Kenya National Union of Teachers have suffered a big blow after Employment and Labour Relations Court dismissed Petition by 14 KNUT branch Executive Secretarles challenging the Teachers Service Commission TSC’s disciplinary power over them.
Justice Radido of Employment and Labour Relations Court has re affirmed the Disciplinary Process commenced by TSC against Knut officials who disrupted CBC trainings and said the same is lawful and Valid.

The Judge agreed with Counsel for TSC Mr. Timón Oyucho who submitted that Executive Secretarles remain fully employees of the Commission and are subject to all the disciplinary regulations of the commission.
The 14 Executive Secretarles had averred that TSC did not have any powers over them as they are employees of the Union.
Justice Radido while dismissing the petition reminded the petitioners (Union Official) that they are on secondment as they remain answerable to the TSC.
The Judge affirmed that TSC is very right as mandated by law to take disciplinary action against the 14.
Court Upholds Validity of CBC Curriculum
Similarly, the Court has rejected KNUT’s Petition challenging the validity of the CBC.
The Judge has therefore cleared the way for full implementation of the new curriculum.
