Principal and 42 KCSE Candidates Arrested Over Cheating

Dibuoro Secondary School Principal, forty-two KCSE candidates, a Chemistry teacher and two laboratory technicians, the supervisor and five invigilators have been nabbed for engaging in examination malpractice.

It was found out that the school had a leakage for Chemistry paper 3 which was done yesterday. Following the arrest, the suspects were taken to Siaya police station to record a statement.

According to Alego/Usonga Sub-County Police Commander Benedict Mwangangi, twenty candidates were found in possession of four mobile phones that contained a leakage of the Chemistry paper.

The police revealed that after examining the mobile phones, they found out that there was also leakage of the Kiswahili paper that had been done on Thursday.

Mwangangi also revealed that there was a WhatsApp group with all the 42 students as members which forced them to arrest twenty more learners to join the arrested 22 at the police station to record a statement.

While the main suspect has not been arrested yet and is still at large, Siaya Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Enock Nyarango revealed that nine more suspects including the school principal and the Chemistry teacher were selected to record a statement to the police.
