RE: RELEASED OF THE KNEC SEVENTH EDITION FOUR GRADE MATHEMATICAL TABLES

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) released the Seventh Edition of the Elementary Mathematical Tables in May 2021. This Seventh Edition has been approved by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). The publication is an essential tool in supporting Curriculum in Mathematics, Sciences, and for examination purposes.

This edition has been approved both in content and presentation to enhance precision in Mathematics and Science calculations. The content is restricted to the essential tables that are relevant for KNEC examinations. In addition, some formulae, Standard International Units (SI Units) and physical constants relevant to Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry have also been included.

To mitigate against the sale of counterfeit by unscrupulous traders, additional security features have been added. Fake mathematical tables have inaccurate content which is misleading to the Students.

The Seventh Edition is printed and distributed by the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB), a State Corporation under the Ministry of Education and is available in bookshops countrywide.

I urge all teachers to use this new edition in teaching and administration of both internal and national examinations.

The Kenya National Examinations Council appreciates your continued support.

Dr. Mercy G. Karogo, MBS

Ag. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Besides, addition of more formulae, Standard Units (SI Units) and physical constants relevant to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have also been included.

To mitigate the sale of counterfeit Elementary Mathematical Tables, KNEC has revealed that there are additional counter measures that have been added.

According to KNEC, fake mathematical tables have content that is inaccurate which misleads students.

The Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Education and is the one that is charged with printing and distributing the seventh edition of the Elementary Mathematical Table.

KNEC implored teachers to utilize the edition in teaching and administration of both internal and national examinations.
