Four KCSE Invigilators from Migori Taken To Court over Examination Malpractice

Four KCSE invigilators from Migori are now in police custody after being arrested yesterday for engaging in cheating in examinations. They were arraigned at the Rongo law courts on Wednesday morning.

According to the charge sheet, one of the teachers who was supervising the KCSE examination at a hospital where one candidate was doing exams, was found transporting the student’s papers alone.

The four invigilators comprise of the Rongo Centre manager, a Supervisor, and two invigilators were remanded for ten days and their case shall be heard on the 9th of April.

Early Learning and Basic Education PS. Dr. Julius Jwan said that the government is closely monitoring some schools in the Nyanza region, directing school principals to be keen alongside their deputies.

After the arrest of the four invigilators, Education CS George Magoha said that the security system of the Government will catch up with unscrupulous individuals who think that they can bypass the watertight security.

“We wish to inform the country that we unearthed a case of early exposure of some papers during this examination. Under these circumstances, unprofessional examination officials manage to expose the examinations a little earlier than the scheduled time once the papers leave safely from the examination container. The questions are them shared with the targeted candidates just before the examinations start,” said CS Magoha.
