The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) reopened its online portal for primary school teachers with the required qualifications to apply for deployment to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) in Kenya.
The period for making applications has been extended to the 22nd of March to address the shortage of teachers in junior secondary schools.
However, the Commission has not revealed the number of teachers set to be recruited in the next recruitment exercise.
Teachers with at least a C+ mean grade in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and a C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects in the same examination.
Besides, they must have at least eight units in each of the two teaching subjects and must be currently serving as primary school teachers under the Teachers Service Commission.
In order to submit applications, teachers are supposed to log in to the Commission’s online portal, fill in their details and follow all the provided steps and attach documents as directed before submitting their applications for consideration by TSC.
Teachers can access the link: tsconline.tsc.go.ke/tsc-teacher/login.
The recruitment drive is intended to address the shortage of teachers in junior secondary schools and ensure that students can access quality education.
The Commission has also taken advantage of the extended application period to apply for the deployment to these schools.
Now it is up to interested candidates to make sure they meet the qualification criteria and submit their applications before the 22nd of March. Students are set to be saved from further anxiety and suffering with more teachers deployed to JSS.
