Her dream is to score a grade of C+ (plus) in the next academic year’s KCSE examination so that she can achieve her desire to become a teacher.
The 37-year-old woman had dropped out of school while in Form One and got married to Peter Wamalwa. After several years in marriage, she decided to go back to school to achieve her life-long dream of becoming a teacher.
In the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, she attained grade C – (Minus). She hails from Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County.
“I decided to go back to class because, without education, you cannot have a better life,” said Otindo.
In the year 2017, at the age of 34, she was admitted to Friends school Musokho Secondary School where she sat for her KCSE examinations this year.
“For all ladies expecting to go back to school, let me advise you that marriage is not a career,” added Otindo.
Her efforts impressed the area Member of Parliament (MP) Majindo Kalasinga who promised to pay had school fees and do something better for Mrs. Otindo’s children.
